| Does Heritage Commons provide health care? Heritage Commons is an independent living community and may not employ health care personnel directly. However, our Executive Director, a highly experienced geriatric care management professional, works closely with residents and their families to arrange for aide or other care services through outside agencies, as required. | Are pets allowed? Resident pets are always welcome. Visitors may also bring pets to visit Heritage Commons residents at any time. Back to top

| Is a lease required? Yes, residents sign a one-year, self-renewing lease. However, you may cancel your lease on 60 days' notice at any time. Back to top

| Is there a security deposit? Yes, we require a security deposit equal to one month's rent. Your security deposit is placed in an interest-producing bank account and you will receive an interest check from this account every year you reside at Heritage Commons. Back to top

| Is there an additional charge for a second person living in an apartment? Yes, couples pay a $395 monthly surcharge which covers the cost of the second person's meals and utilities usage. However, except for a small meal fee, there is no additional charge for a health care aide living with you. Back to top

| Is the there an entrance or application fee? Heritage Commons has no entrance or application fee. Back to top

| May I have guests stay with me in my apartment? Yes. Just let us know a few days in advance and we will provide you with a roll-away bed and linen. Back to top

| What about building security? Heritage Commons is staffed 24 hours a day, 365 days a year. Residential hallways, service areas, and our parking lot and grounds are covered by a 20-camera video system linked to a central monitoring station. All visitors must sign in and out. Exterior doors are locked at dusk and may be opened only by the Front Desk attendant. Apartments are protected by smoke detectors, sprinklers, and include an emergency call system. All hallways and common areas are equipped with smoke detectors, sprinklers, and automatic fire doors. Back to top

| What does Heritage Commons do to get my apartment ready for me? Your apartment will be thoroughly cleaned, repainted and the carpeting will be shampooed or, if necessary, replaced. Carpeting that can't be restored to excellent condition by shampooing is replaced, and residents may choose from three carpet styles and 20 colors. Back to top
